- Short version: In 1985, I began working for both a New England photojournalist and a daily newspaper. At the end of 1985, I became a full-time staff photographer for the newspaper. Since then I have worked for several newspapers and publications, including freelancing for the Christian Science Monitor and the Associated Press. My most meaningful work was done in Third World Countries. As time went by, I got burnout, quit, and concentrated on my art for awhile. I started working for another daily newspaper in May of 2007. In March of 2010, I turned 62, "officially" retiring in June. Feeling the need to continue shooting, I became the chamber photographer, holding that position until May of 2011, when I stepped down to pursue other photo opportunities - my dreams, so to speak. Photographers never retire, they just change directions. I have been a member of Nikon Professional Services since 1985.
